Press Releases Notes for Editors Press Contact Information on Relationship Blessings If you are thinking about asking MCC Edinburgh to take part in your blessing, we can provide you with ideas for the service and guidance on how to put the service itself together. We offer relationship blessings, Holy Unions, and blessings of Civil Partnerships (which are done as a separate service from the Civil Partnership itself). Above all, we want to support you both in making this a very special day to celebrate your relationship together! You and your partner are more than welcome to join us for a worship service to get a sense of what MCC Edinburgh is like. If you would like to arrange a Blessing through MCC Edinburgh we'll ask you and your partner to book two appointments with one of our staff Clergy prior to the service itself. These meetings are an opportunity for someone from MCC and you to talk together, get to know each other a little more, and to talk about why the two of you have decided to have a Blessing service. The second meeting is a time to talk through the service in more detail, and to answer any other questions you might have. Services are held in Edinburgh unless prior arrangements are made with the clergyperson. On a more practical level, we ask couples to make a donation of £200 for the service if it is held at an outside location, and £250 if it is held at our church. This helps us to cover the costs of church administration and pastoral staff time. We ask couples to make a £50 deposit at the first meeting. Please note that this deposit is non-refundable, even if the Blessing Service does not take place. If the Blessing service is cancelled by the church, however, we will refund the deposit to you.
